Fossify and QKSMS both aren’t very modern in my opinion. Connect You I’ll have to give a better look. Their F-Droid page pictures aren’t too detailed but may be decent. Thank you
Transfered from Feddit.ch as they closed up shop unfortunately.

The latter. My primary focus is the UI
Thank you. I clearly need to prioritize learning more about ports. I have had little time to try fixing this issue (hence why this comment is so late) but figured out it was VPN related. My phone’s VPN was blocking connection. After enabling local network bypass another SMB entry appeared with the accurate IP, if required me to only enter my username and then it connected fine.
I used to like his content and still like Surveillance Report but Henry always talks about how Apple is so private and a good option for an OS ecosystem. It’s closed source, it looks like they (Apple) push “privacy” so they can have a monopoly on the data, and are anti consumer in many ways. Now his push for Synology has been growing.
Seems like he takes the easy way out with privacy. I understand life is busy (as he mentions a lot) but in order to make positive change you have to believe in and follow values that give power to open source tech and not the giants who steal your data, monetize you, and are in bed with the government
I really enjoy the Gulikit King Kong Pro 2 (and would assume the 3 is better) because it all runs on firmware. No software to install, it just works as it should. Also works on Linux without fuss.
On its functionality side it has hall effect triggers and joysticks plus nice buttons.
Closed source and sometimes they prevent you from changing DNS and probably can’t put a VPN on it. Also I’ve read specifically about ASUS routers collecting information on the network seperate from the DNS so I would imagine every company is doing that.
Changing your DNS to a private one is worth it as it’s incredibly easy to do and certainly can’t be a bad thing.
Is it Linux or Android based?
I have Earthbound on my new Retro DMG but haven’t played it yet. Thanks for referencing the ROM hack, I’ll play that one instead as it seems like a vanilla + experience
You’re welcome. I find Fedora to be much more up to date and refined than Ubuntu but also very stable still, at least the atomic variants as those are what I use. Also Ubuntu has all the controversy about trying to force their own packages at you as well as other things
Temu is also abusing human rights
This guy has an interesting perspective on that topic. He provides good points on how what you’re saying could be wrong
That is quite nice composition for a beginner. Well done
It says failed to load media unfortunately. I’m glad you’re enjoying the hobby. Darktable is a great editing software fyi
I don’t know of a guide but I’d suggest making a new anonymous account (email and privacy card) but make sure it’s created while using a VPN (for that initial IP log) and then continue to use it on a VPN (don’t forget DNS in general too). Then be sure to be on Linux and use the Flatpak as it’s a sandboxed application. I read a thread about viruses in a Proton environment and how they can still access other parts of your system so there may be a weak point in the sandbox with Proton, but I’m no expert and have little knowledge on the subject.
I did and got the same results unfortunately. Good to know though, thank you
I’ve recently converted two people from Windows to Linux with Fedora Kinoite. One of them has been using it for maybe two months now without a single issue and the other just started using it with positive first impressions. I find it very modern, simple, and familiar. The atomic system just works too. I enjoy it much more than Mint
This is amazing to hear. I’m so happy for him and his family
Unless I’m mistaken that’s not a FOSS app and also contains many trackers. I’m not trying to be rude with this comment, I came to the F-Droid community to find FOSS apps that don’t track their users.
