A Wisconsin woman accused of stabbing her classmate to please horror character Slender Man more than a decade ago asked a judge again Friday to release her from a psychiatric hospital.

Morgan Geyser, who is now 22 years old, filed a petition with Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren seeking her release from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute. The petition marks the third time in the last two years she has asked Bohren to let her out of the facility.

She withdrew her first petition two months after filing it in 2022. Bohren denied her second request this past April, saying she remains a risk to the public.

No, I want to have patients assessed for release like the law requires and actually have the system do something more than abuse people.

Gonna need more that empty platitudes. Explain what you think is wrong here v which specific laws and processes are not being followed, who is responsible, and what is the remedy? Also why are you rooting for a confirmed attempted murderer? This really comes across as hero worship.

why are you rooting for a confirmed attempted murderer?

She was found not guilty. Why do you want to punish the innocent?

Not guilty is not the same as innocent. She was not guilty due to insanity but she still committed the act.

She was found not guilty because she was twelve. Not because she didn’t attempt to murder that person.

I don’t think anything because I don’t know the details and neither do you.

You don’t know the details, but you’ll call anyone who argues against keeping this person involuntarily committed for the rest of their life an “apologist”.

Sounds like you just worship the U.S. “justice system”, and get off on seeing people ruined by it, regardless of what’s justified.

No, I want to understand without anyone getting emotional or making it personal precisely what they think the problem is. All I get from people is a vague reference to age and the passage of time.

The point of a system like this is to in theory rehabilitate people so that one day they can return to society.

The system is failing here to do that despite several professionals in their field saying she is capable of returning to the community.

It’s easy to vilify someone when you make up and attribute things to them that they didn’t say. Not sure how making this personal helps, but it sure does say something about you.

This isn’t Brittany Spears. This is someone who lured a victim and attempted to murder her.

Do you remember how fucking stupid 12 year olds are?

Now add untreated mental illness to it. Keeping her locked up is nothing but cruel.
