    “Users will need to look for KB5041587 under Windows update > Advanced options > Optional updates,” says AMD in a statement to Wccftech.

    So, is this an optional update for now, or is this going to be included in some kind of omnibus update?

      It is optional until 24h2 releases at the end of September which it will be packaged with.

        Thanks. From the way I read it, it sounded like it was an optional update that came alongside 24H2.

          No worries. The way the info is laid out it’s pretty understandable how you came to that conclusion. I came to the comments to make sure I was understanding it correctly too.

      I think it is optional now, and after they observe it’s stability for a while, they will move it into base update, but I’m not sure.

        The article isn’t especially clear. I would guess it’s the way you suggest, but maybe they’re gunshy after the CrowdStrike debacle and want to keep plausible deniability.
