His legacy could have also been “80s real estate and business failure goes to prison for SA and financial crimes.” Instead, we have a two-tiered justice system and he gets to climb onto Air Force One with toilet paper stuck to his shoe at 72 years of age.
We’re numb to injustice.
Two completely different standards applied simultaneously, amplified by media’s fawning obsession over this narcissistic shitbag and Harris’ status as a WoC
“Moderate” Dems have been trying to appear palatable to an increasingly unhinged conservative voter for decades now, so they won’t push for anything too controversial
Ours is a culture of complacency. Even where demonstrably untrue, we for generations regard ourselves as number one in all aspects of nationhood. The propaganda works as designed. We don’t expect more because we already think this is as good as it gets.
This allows the slow erosion of rights and denial of progress that we’ve seen over the last 50 years. We won’t be protesting or demanding things most democracies would consider mandatory. We’re too busy trying to get by at this point.
You guys have friends?
Def strikes as an old fashioned phrase
What I really find disappointing about this exchange is how disingenuous this scenario is that you paint. You set up a very vague and overbroad situation and then follow it up with a very specific to the point of anecdotal example as if that refutes my rebuttal.
Like, do you really think I should get bogged down in a response to this new scenario like it’s worth considering? Do you genuinely think a random person on the internet is incapable of imagining a scenario such as the one you described and would be floored by it? C’mon dude.
But ok. Sure, let’s do this like you have a good point. Here’s what should happen. Domestic violence experts who are trained in psychology and deescalation techniques could intervene and create a safe exit for victims of abuse and violence. But you know what? I don’t know what exactly that task force would look like or how it would operate. What I do know is, it shouldn’t look like those guys in blue who shoot black people in their own homes while existing and chuck flashbangs into cribs.
De-escalation.
The first way to achieve this is to stay off someone’s porch.

Enjoy it, because your 40s will require sacrifices.
Door? If his campaign is the Titanic, once it hits the iceberg he’ll be on the first and most luxurious lifeboat alone, with only his next nearest unindicted oarsman.
Agree with both above parent comments, but what can they hope to gain by starting to point out his meltdowns now? Do they think they can convince him to step down as well? To change his rhetoric?
No unfortunately he has the right two bear arms
This one’s not landing for me, maybe I’ve heard this before but I’m not sure what he’s implying with “San Francisco style”. Is that thin crust or deep dish? Does it come with mozzarella or anti-queer dogwhistle? I only spent an afternoon once in SF and I never had a chance to sample their “style” of liberal. Someone help me out here?
An internal leak is a breach of security.
The company I work for has a decent professional culture that emphasizes teamwork without any weird gimmicks. But I don’t get paid to make friends with these people. If anything, the people that think they’re there to socialize usually put the work second and make things harder for the rest of the team.
There’s nothing wrong with sharing jokes and having fun at work. As long as you understand that there’s also value in keeping your personal life seperate.
Like a lot of Republicans, this guy needs therapy. And medication. And anger management training.
And to be removed from a position of power.
