I have a Gazelle12 from 2018 and it’s chassis is dogshit, but when I did my research before purchasing I saw a lot of reviews. They all pointed out that the case was made of flimsy plastic, so I was aware ahead of time of that potential problem. The Oryx Pro was the next Model up for several hundreds more, though. Ultimately, I am happy with my laptop even if I have to disassemble it just to repair the chassis with epoxy periodically. It’s 6 years later and the specs are still more than adequate for 99% of my needs, except for my specific intel processor which isn’t supported by Win11. I consider that a feature as oppose to a problem. The software bloat and planned obsolessence through slowdowns of software on Windows based computers are things I do not miss one bit.

They have since changed their model lineup and I bet the build quality on the other models today aee much better then the Gazelle of 2018.

The beautiful thing about Teflon is also its downfall. It’s such a stable unreactive product that it never breaks down! Ever. Also the process of making it is pretty awful, too.

it seriously blows my mind that the overwhelming majority of my fellow americans tolerate this system, that is if they don’t downright approve of it. The issues mentioned in that video are not isolated incidents. They are common, everyday, business-as-usual practices that almost all of us deal with.

it did. in the 90s i was on a plane with my family and a guy sitting near us got drunk and was telling people he had a bomb in his briefcase. all that happened was that he got chewed out by the flight attendant. I could swear she said “we will turn the plane around if we have to!” it was incredibly amusing to watch as someone under 10 years old.

i’m not sure i’m following your points. My point was to argue that even the long-term prospect of grossing 63k per year by any metric is beyond the reach of a lot of specialized workers. Add to that, the fact that that’s an evenly divided number. It would be more realistic that the income would need to be even higher closer to retirement if the initial young professional started out grossing less than 63k per year.

I don’t think anybody should be arguing that it should be acceptable to pay people less simply because they don’t want to have kids. Family planning decisions are often guided by household economics.

63k a year is a little more than $30/hr. That’s a wage completely beyond the reach of some skilled career professions even if a person pursued advancement in that field.
