We need positive visions for everything, grounded in sustainability.

Especially when “wellbeing” has become a buzzword that encompasses a whole host of pseudoscience “new age” stuff

This will inevitably translate into “Cute and toothless fuzzy animal avatars psychotically manipulating users with fun child-like language and something about diversity.”

AI will obviously be used primarily to manipulate people and sell stuff. Corporations own it, they want to control us and get our money and data, the “vision” stapled on top of that is meaningless except as propaganda.

One conclusion we came to is that it’s okay that we can’t conclusively define human wellbeing.

Is it also ok that they can’t define “intelligence”? My guess is yes.

Scientifically wellbeing is pretty well established. These people are either ignorant of basic sociology, etc. Or more likely the standard definitions of wellbeing don’t match their needs. They don’t actually care about providing for basic human needs like food, shelter, etc. These are just extremely privileged people completely removed from any deprivation and blabbing incoherently on a blog about their own “joy”.
